So since php5.3.3 now includes php-fpm and is included in Debian squeeze… how would one use nginx and php-fpm with the built-in (not the dotdeb) packages? I found zero info on the fpm support in squeeze so far

Does anybody know practical meaning of all this parameters for heavy loaded site ?

pm = dynamic or static
pm.max_children = 128
pm.start_servers = 2
pm.max_spare_servers = 64
pm.max_requests = 0

Thank you. It works now The update appeared to have new PHP 5.3.3 Stable so no need for me to remove it.

Hello.

I would like to remove this package, but I think your repository is missing some files, so I cannot use standard “aptitude remove” option:

Failed to fetch http://php53.dotdeb.org/dists/lenny/php5/binary-amd64/php5-cg i_5.3.3-0.dotdeb.0_amd64.deb: 404 Not Found

Is it possible to fix somehow.

@spirit : Dotdeb can not package all the PECL extensions. The packages from php5-pecl are the most common.

If you want to build your own package (gearman, gmagick), read this article : http://www.dotdeb.org/2008/09/25/how-to-package-php-extensions-by-yourself/

About php5-gmagick, it depends GraphicMagicks 1.2.6+ that is not present in Lenny.

Something I don’t understand… why are there those pecl packages http://php53.dotdeb.org/dists/stable/php5-pecl/ ? Can’t we install those running pecl install gmagick?
