MySQL 5.1.50 is here

Yesterday, many announcements have been made on MySQL Sunday. MySQL 5.5 is now RC, and will be GA soon, with many (exciting) improvements.

No, there are no MySQL 5.5 packages on Dotdeb (yet), but MySQL 5.1.50 packages for Debian 5.0 « Lenny » are now available on Dotdeb in amd64/i386 flavours.

This bugfix release embeds the InnoDB plugin 1.0.11.

As usual, please read the Changelog carefully before upgrading.

When running the upgrade I received this error:

server-5.1_5.1.50-0.dotdeb.0_amd64.deb: subprocess new pre-removal script returned error exit status 1

Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks,
Paul

Sorry, it would help if I copied the full error message:

E: /var/cache/apt/archives/mysql-server-5.1_5.1.50-0.dotdeb.0_amd64.deb: subprocess new pre-removal script returned error exit status 1

Do you base your packages on upstream? Or do you package them yourself? Where do we report bugs? Your update broke my MYSQL install because it re-chowned all my MySQL files back to mysql instead of keeping them as the user that I set in my.cnf.

@Jordon Bedwell : Dotdeb’s Mysql packages are backports from Sid. They do not support use change in my.cnf and override the permissions during the (re-)install. Sorry. Perhaps you can us the adm Unix group.
