Packages of MySQL 5.5.29 are now available for Debian 6.0 “Squeeze” on both amd64 and i386 architectures. They fixes some InnoDB- and replication-related issues and some more bugs.
Please note that the Pinba engine has also been rebuilt to be used with the new version.
As usual, please read carefully the fullĀ Changelog before upgrading.

Thank you for updating on X-Mas, Guillaume!
Merry Christmas to you and all users!
Jason
Are dotdeb’s MySQL, Nginx, PHP packages built as Upstart server?
Thanks
Guillaume Plessis
@Json : Dotdeb is built for Debian stable. It still uses the systemV init scripts.
Jason
@Guillaume Thanks, do you plan on offering upstart service for dotdeb packages in future? Since upstart is available on debian.
Guillaume Plessis
@Jason : no plan for this yet. I’m following Debian’s packaging scheme. Did you take a look at those packages for Ubuntu? http://packages.tooptee.org/
Jason
@Guillaume In that repo, most updated packages such as PHP 5.4 stuff are marked as experimental. Are the experimental packages used in production environment? Are the experimental packages safe to use?
Guillaume Plessis
@Jason : they’re used on a heavy-loaded production environment at IsCool Entertainement. A good friend of mine maintains them.
Jason
@Guillaume Thank you very much for your hard work, I’ve just made a donation of 50.00 EUR to dotdeb to show my appreciation
Guillaume Plessis
@Jason : Oh! Thank you so much!
